So, did you think I disappeared??? I have been in alot of trouble from some people for not posting.

The past couple of weeks have been good. I am in the middle of a transition to become the apartment manager. I have been going to Heather's once a day so she can train me. I am really trying to get excited. I am trying to think of things that would make living here better for everyone.

I am also excited to move down to her apartment. I want to make it all cute. I haven't really bothered with our current apartment because I knew we weren't going to be there for a long time. With this apartment we should be there for at least 5 years. Dan is letting me spend some money to make us feel at home. If I am careful, I can do a lot with what I have been alloted. I am going to paint the walls colors I like. I just bought us a new bedding set. I want to get an overstuffed chair for the living room. ...things like that.

Lana has been sitting up by herself! She is such a big girl! I still have to stay really close to catch her when she inevitably tipps over.

We also fed her her first real food the other day. Rice cereal. She was hilarious!! She made the funniest confused faces! I don't think any of it actually made it to her tummy. She would test in out in her little mouth...smackin' around....then let it drip out.

Over the weekend we went to a Pacific Ballroom Dance benefit. Heather (she teaches for them) asked me to do the photography for it. I was immediately really nervous because that is a dark setting with high motion. I like to think I take nice pictures but I really have no idea what I am doing in general. I told Heather that and she said it would be fine. I wanted to do a good job so badly. I went to a dress rehearsal that morning but they didn't have the lighting set up like I had hoped. So, I had no way to know what was going to happen when I started taking pictures. I read all I could on the internet. I even went to a photography studio to ask a photographer there what the best settings were. Well, I got alot of nice pictures of the dinner before the show and the dancing afterward....but as feared the show pictures were terrible. They were all blurry because of the nature of the performance. I was almost in tears the whole night during and after the show. I feel so bad.

There were good parts to to evening though. Dan and Lana came and we got to eat the dinner. We got a great table. We had all the big wigs sitting with us. I got to meet the mayor of Tacoma! Now, I know that isn't really all that cool in the sceme of things but, I was starstruck nonetheless.

I also got to get Lana all dressed up! Doesn't she look so dang cute!
Heather and Matt.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week I went to stay with Cami while Travis was out of town. Poor little Lance is having such a tough time. They just found out that he has some kind of protein deficiency and he needs hearing aids. Cami has to feed him through a feeding tube. It is really time consuming. It is really hard for her (and would be for anyone) because she has Alex (her 2 year old) 2 deal with too. Despite the not-so-great circumstances, I got to talk to Cami alot and that was nice.

Everyone wants to see the Lana cow pics. So, here is the ONE we got. The camera ran out of batteries after this. Halloween was a fun night. We went to Sam and Brent's up in Everett. First, we took Lana trick-or-treating. That was so much fun! She would grab the candy out of the bowls. It took her a bit to get the hang of it but she was a pro by the end. We want to teach her the double-fist GRAB for next year. I'm sure the people saw right through us and knew we were using our baby to get candy. ;)

We put her to bed at thier house. We then had a re-match of tennis on the Wii. Then we watched the movie 1408 (kinda lame, if you ask me). We spent the night there and then in the morning we went to get the day after Halloween sales. I got a pretty fall wreath. I was pretty excited about that.

Halloween pics of Tucker (my nephew)

Lana got to "help" us carve her first pumpkin.

As you can see she was pretty interested... A couple of days later someone stole my pumpkin and smashed it in the lobby. What a bunch of idiots.

Fun games with Lana!

I made this the desktop for our computer while I went to stay with Cami.

whew...I guess you posted! it was a good one though! I LOVE the picture of Lana in the mirror, honestly, you are amazing! The dance thing looks like it was super fancy, I don't blame you for being nervous, even though I know the pics turned out better than you said.

I'm sorry about the photo issues. You almost have to import some extra lighting into situations like that. Oh well.
Congrats on the new job! And good luck with it. Let me know if you need help with painting.
