Eventful week

I just had my meeting with my boss. After I have them I never can understand why I dread them so much. I think it is just the pressure of being evaluated.

Last night Lana had a temperature for the first time. I guess I am lucky I have gotten this far without having to deal with it. She had a doctors appointment at 2:00. The poor little chick was due for some shots. I HATE when she gets shots. It is just so sad. I set her down on the exam table. She looks at me with trusting eyes and then.....WHAM! out of nowhere! A sword is jabbed one after the other into each thigh. She has done pretty well in the past. She still did well this time too but it was by far the worst yet. I watched her little face as they poked the needle in and she shuttered and whimpered in pain.....then the long deep breath (as her face gets increasingly red) and the wail. I almost shed a tear or two for her. Poor Lana was very shooken up after that. Her lip was quivering for a good 15 mins.

As the night went on, she got increasingly crankier. I took her visiting teaching with me and by the end she was done being nice. I took her temp when she got home and it was 102. :( She was so miserable. She was out like a light when we put her down for bed. I was prepared for her to be up a couple of times crying but she did pretty well. The temp was gone when she got up in the morning. My boss (mike) gave me a good suggestion. He said to give her Tylenol BEFORE the shot. I think I'll do that next time.

For Family Home Evening, Daniel and I read a letter my mom sent me. It was a letter I had written my family and friends to send out with my senior picture. It was HILARIOUS. What a dufus I was. I am tempted to write it here, just so you all could get a kick out of it but...it is far too embarrassing. It our family home evening ended with me practically spewing out of my mouth and nose I was laughing so hard. (I don't think it was entirely the letter...Dan was being pretty funny too)

Sunday was pretty eventful. When we woke up in the morning we immediately started preparing dinner. We were having Dan's sisters and their family over that night. About 1 1/2 hours before church was suppose to start we got a call from a member of the Stake Presidency. He asked us if we could meet him right before church. We were confused but said yes. Brother Kinateter(sp?) had said something about Dan maybe getting called as a ward missionary so, we thought it had something to do with that. Except it didn't quite make sence that the Stake Presidency would have to call him for that. We arrived late. We sat down and informed us that this was about Daniel. He asked Daniel if he would accept a call to be in the bishopric! WOAH. Talk about unexpected. I'm pretty sure my stomach did some somersaults. Of course, we accepted. 10 minutes later Dan was standing up in sacrament meeting to be sustained and took his place on the stand. Apparently they had been trying to get ahold of us all week. The stake had one of our old numbers. That morning they called our bishop and told him "We can't get ahold of this guy!" The number was corrected and then we got a call.

I am so proud of him and I know he will do a great job.

Well, that's our life for now. I'm going to take more pics of Lana soon so stay posted!

Sick kids are no fun. At least you're garenteed to get lots of cuddles when they have a fever.

Wow, Dan! That's awesome!
Oh, and I SO KNOW that feeling of watching your baby look at you totally happy and then the shots start . . . ahh I hate it. And the wailing! Someone told me about that tylenol before the shots, too. So far I have forgotten every time though. Here's hoping! :)
