My Parent's/Sami's Adventure to The Emerald City

Ya know, I don't even know why they call it the Emerald City? Here, I'll look it up...

Seattle's current official nickname is the "Emerald City", the result of a contest held in the early 1980s;the reference is to the lush evergreen trees in the surrounding area.

I agree. Seattle is very green.
Look at her little tippy toes!

Lana LOVED having all the attention while they were here. She especially loved Grandpa. When ever she saw him she would excitedly crawl up to him...stand up on whatever he was on and just holler at him. They also played alot of "I'm gunna get you!". ( Which I have found out is a dangerous game for your toddler to want to play. My nephew alex wants to play it all the time. It's alot more effort to keep up with a toddler. ) Dad would say "I'm gunna get you" and she would crawl away a little and then bury her body in whatever she was near. (just like you see in the pic below.)My parents and Samantha arrived late on the 12th. This was Sami's and Dad's first trip to Seattle. The pictures are very out over order but I don't feel like fixing them.

The 13th was Samantha's Birthday. After Daniel got home from work we went and wandered around Alki Beach. Then we went to Cactus. Sami wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant but, you can go to one of those anywhere. So we took her to variation. Her big requirement is that there was unlimited Chips and Salsa. Cactus has AWESOME chips and salsa. mmmmm mm. So good! Lana was so funny at the table. She was clapping and smiling for anyone. We ordered her some Mexican rice and she gobbled it up.
Daniel and I got her some shoes. Mom and Dad got her a fancy hair straightener. She has been asking for one FOREVER. She is 17. wow. I feel like it was just last week when I was 17 and she was 12. That was almost 6 years ago!

I just finished my room!

On Saturday we ventured on the ferry over to Bremerton. One of mom's HS best friend's lives there. We had breakfast with them, Sami and I sang while their son Matt played the piano. It was a fun visit. Dan and I had to go back to Seattle but Mom and Dad stayed there for the rest of the day. We had dinner with Dan's family. His sister, Jessica, was visiting for her birthday. Daniel made Korean Food. Ha-ha. Everyone was still complaining the next day because he made it so spicy.

On Sunday Sami and I sang "I Know that My Redeemer Lives." in church. This is only the 2nd time I have sung in my ward. It was fun to be singing again. We had Jessica's birthday celebration that night at Cami and Travis's. We (me,Dan,Laura,Aric,Cami, and Travis) all pitched in a got her a pretty necklace with little diamonds in it. I think it will look so perfect on her!

On Monday we went to Pikes Place. That is always fun. Daniel requested that we go while he was at work. We have been there about a million times. But I still always have fun.

We went to the famous Ivar's. Sami made the disgusting comment that she would rather have a cheeseburger. Gross.

Monday also happen to be my parent's 25th Wedding Anniversary. We took them out to a great place called The Palace Kitchen. Daniel had won a $200.00 gift certificate at work. So, we got to go there care free. (especially since we don't drink....that would rake up the $200 really fast).
AWWWW! 25 Years! I wonder what Daniel and I will be doing on our 25th anniversary? I will be....44. Weird. The pic below is at the restaurant we took them to. Hopefully, that is NOT what Daniel will be doing for our picture on our 25th. Goofy guy!
Daniel took the day off on Tuesday. We were going to go to the Zoo at Point Defiance but it was rainy and then by the time it was clear...the zoo was closed. We just drove around point defiance and looked at the pretty scenery. That has got to be one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to.
This was Daniel's idea. To quote him, "You always get to choose how we pose....I get to do it this time." Haha...I think there is a reason I get to choose.Samantha was begging us all week to go shopping. So, we went to Belleview Square. It was great fun. Although, I don't think the guys agree. We got mom the cutest shirt. She look quite foxy in it if you ask me. Eventually the guys went home in one car while we continued to shop. Girls night!

Thursday was the last official day. Mom helped me get some flowers for my little garden area....if you can call it that.

Daniel is sick today. :( I feel so bad for him. He (very pathetically) asked me to go get him some orange juice. He probably won't go to work tomorrow. I'll have to be the perfect little wife and serve him hand and foot.
