This is my brother-in-law Chase doing a cannonball into a lake somewhere in Tacoma.
Two nights ago we couldn't figure out why Lana was crying. We checked her diaper....tried to feed her...took her temperature...everything. I suggested giving her a bath to calm her down. She doesn't fit really well in the little infant bath anymore and we don't have a little stand to put in the big bath. So, someone has to get in with her. I filled the bath and got in and Dan handed her to me. She immediately was calm...then she exploded!! Lots of thunder from down under. Needless to say, I was pretty grossed out. I gave her to Dan and proceeded to clean the tub and refill it. During this time she got all worked up again. After I had refilled the tub and gotten back in Dan handed her to me again. 5....4....3....2....1....ka-booom!!!! She exploded again. and again and again. She must have been constipated. So, we just kept her in there till she was done about 5 min later. The bath must have relaxed her enough that she could let it all out. I'll tell you what...That is true love. Sitting in poo water....gross Don't worry; both she and I rinsed off in clean water :) She was happy after that.
Right now she is on her play mat just entertaining herself. She does a great job at that. I hope it doesn't change. Not that I don't like paying attention to her but it does let me get some things done. Sunday Dan and I really wanted to sleep in because we had stayed up way too late. ( I know, I know...not very good preparation for the Sabbath) She woke up about 7. I fed her and then she slept till 9. Then we put her on her play mat and we woke up and hour and a half later to her still playing!! AMAZING! We got to sleep in till 11:30! That never happens. It kinda made me feel like a slacker.
Just now between this paragraph and the last she started to get fussy on her mat. So, I picked her up and walked around for about 2 mins, layed her in her crib and now she is napping. I am nervous to have another baby because I am so spoiled now! She's awesome! I don't think it has anything to do with me....its all her and her good nature.
Dan and I checked out the new additions to the Southceter mall on Saturday. It is soo nice! Not only the stores but next to the restrooms they had a family room. The countertops had changing table basins built in...bottle warmers....a microwave ect.... Then the had a little play area. The best part was the nursing rooms!! They had dressing room like areas with big chairs and flat screen TVs in each partition. It was very cool. It was actually a joy to nurse while not in our own home! wierd
My sister in law Laura had her baby last Mon. His name is Tucker Lawrence Turner. He was 7 weeks early and weighed a hefty 5lbs 5oz. He is healthy but not fully developed. He'll have to stay in the hospital for about a month. It really is a miracle everything turned out alright. Laura had gone in for a doctors appointment and they detected his low heart rate. They rushed her to the hospital and did an emergency C-section. Thank goodness she was at the doctor at the exact time he was in trouble!!

Don't feel like a slacker. Jake used to wake up at night from about midnight until 4:00 am or so. I would try to stay awake with him, but eventually sleep would over take me. I'd wake up a couple of hours later and there he'd be happy as a lark playing on the floor. All of this of course came to a screeching hault when he learned to crawl at 4 MONTHS. Then he had to be watched every second.
So glad that Lana is sleeping well for you. It makes all the difference in the enjoyment of motherhood.
Thanks for the poo story, it gets me excited for children...ha! That pic of the cannonball is AMAZING! You need to teach me some photoshop tricks next weekend.
wow.
That poo story is probably one of the best I've heard/read.
We discovered the bath:poo correlation many moons ago and have found it to be quite effective. Luckily we didn't discover this while we were in the tub too.
