Lana and I braved the airport ourselves to get to Billings. All went well when I got there. When I got on the plane Lana decided it was a good idea to EXPLODE out of her diaper right before they wanted to start taxing. I went to the back to the bathroom and saw there were no changing tables. I asked the attendant where I was supposed to change her and he said "the toilet lid." GROSS. I can't believe they don't have a changing table. They want me to put my baby on a toilet lid. AHH.......Anyway, the rest went fine.
Lana and I waiting to board for her very first flight
Lana in SLC airport for our layover
My friend Chelsea picked us up at the airport. She is a roommate I had at BYU-Idaho and she's fabulous!!
One of the first things we did was go to here father-in-law's dental surgery practice because Chelsea freaked out when she saw my baby tooth that is seeing its last days. I have 2 teeth on my bottom row that are still baby teeth with no permanent teeth to replace them. Baby teeth aren't meant to last your whole life so they are slowly dissapearing. I went in and got an x-ray. The Dr. said that I need to get it taken care of soon because my other teeth are starting to move. hmmm that sucks.
We stayed the night at her parents house. Chelsea made amazing Honey-Lime Chicken Enchiladas and then had ice cream balls ,rolled in toasted coconut, topped in hot fudge. They were both so yummy! I usually hate coconut but after you toast it it doesn't even taste like coconut anymore.
While we were making this scrumptious dinner Lana laughed for the first time!! It was the cutest thing I have ever heard!
Then next day we drove to Lovell, WY. My grandparents live there. Ha-Ha I told Chelsea before we got there that my Grandpa was really funny but he will say something and you will laugh but it takes you about 10 min to figure out what just said. Well, true to himself, the first thing he said to her is something like, "It's a Cold-beller." Hmmmmmm thats a thinker. Well, Chelsea's last name is Winter-holler. See if you can figure it out. :-)
When I arrived in Lovell I had long hair... and by the time chelsea left I had short. haha I don't know what my deal is with wanting what I don't have. Anyways, I like it and more importantly...Dan thinks its hot.
My family came just a couple hours after we arrived. They got to meet Lana!! Mom and Dad's very first Grandchild. It was so fun the whole trip to watch everyone spoil her with attention.
That first night I sang alot with my sisters while mom played the piano. I miss singing. I always decide I am going to practice but then other things take priority. I think that is always my favorite part of trips...singing.
Sami got her braces off and she is a babe!! I wish I would have taken up my Dad's offer to get me braces when I was in High School.
Laura is on her way to college at BYU-Utah. I am so excited for her. It sounds like she has some cool roommates. She is going to do great!
Chelsea and Lana
Dad letting Lana sleep on him
Chelsea left the next afternoon to go back to Billings.

We discovered something interesting in the first day. Who does this picture below look like to you? Lana right!!??? This is my mom. They are almost twins. At least now we know who Lana looks like. We had been having a hard time pinning her down to me or Dan.
The picture below is me nursing Lana with my swimsuit on! I repeat: with my swimsuit on. We went swimming at Horseshoe Bend. It was just me, Laura and my parents. Laura and I entertained ourselves with races to the shore and playing on the water trampoline.
Every year we got to the mountains to a place called Jaws. It is so beautiful! We climb the rocks and my brother and Dad usually fish. 5 or 6 years back my mom found the little red plastic dude you see below. So, she hid him in the rock. Every year we go make sure he is still there.
I gave these flowers to Lana not realizing they were infested with tons of tiny red bugs!!
Lana's great Uncle Jason!
I had to respond to some interesting comments while feeding Lana from my young cousins (Porter(age 7ish) and Cole(age 5)) I would be feeding her in a chair with a blanket over me and they would ask me questions such as...
Cole: Is the baby sleeping?
Me: no, she is eating.
Porter: What is she eating?
Me: milk
Porter: how is there milk under there?
He would then proceed to try to look under the blanket
Me: (while pulling the blanket down) The baby likes to eat alone.
You know that mom cows make milk right? (nod) well, I make milk for Lana.
Cole: Milk comes from your stomach?
their mom then explained to them where the milk comes from. To which Porter replied, "her boobies are weird then....they are on her stomach!!"
NEXT CONVERSATION
Porter: Is the baby sleeping?
Me: No, she is eating
Porter: you mean drinking
Me: yes, you're right...drinking
Porter: Does that tickle?
haha they said some other really funny things that I can't remember. Ahh kids.
The bulk of my time there was spent making a quilt. My grandma is an expert quilt maker. I made just a simple block quilt and it took me FOREVER. I thought I would never be done. I have a new appreciation for quilt making. I LOVE my blanket!!
I love going to my Grandmas house. It is so relaxing. We don't really do a whole lot...just sit around and talk. It really makes me not want to live in busy Seattle. I hope someday I will at least have a yard.

My Grandpa dropped me off at the airport. I was really nervous for this flight because it was in the evening and that is when Lana is alot more cranky. To add to that I had a super short layover in Salt Lake so, If my first flight was even a little late I would miss my second. I checked in fine. I waited to go through security because I was really early and didn't know if Chelsea was going to come see me off. After wandering around for about 40 min I heard my name over in intercom. I went to the SkyWest counter and they informed me that my flight was over an hour late. AhHHHHHHHH Then the proceeded to tell me that since I had a baby they were moving my to Frontier Airlines for a direct flight to Seattle!!! I was going to get there 2 hours early!!! Dan was so excited.
I was so excited to see Dan. 10 days is alot without him. He was excited to see us too, especially Lana.
We went to Red Robin for dinner. The manager kept coming by our table admiring Lana and telling us how cute she was. At the end of our meal he came up to our table with the general manager and told us that they decided she was the cutest baby in the restaurant so...they gave us a $20.00 gift certificate! Our luck day! A direct flight and a free meal at Red Robin!! Heavenly Father must be thinking about us. :)
