Fun with Lana!

Pigtails!!

Last Saturday we went to the zoo. Unfortunately, when we got there we discovered that the camera was out of batteries. :( It was a true tragedy. Lana had a good time. Her favorite was the monkeys. She called alot of the animals "kitty"...I think that is the name she has for any animal...or anything she thinks is an animal (like airplanes...). I think it was my favorite zoo I have ever been to. It isn't overly large. I always get overwhelmed in zoos because they are so huge and there is so much to see...and by the end I am beyond done. But this zoo was the perfect size. They even had a Beluga whale!!The best event there was at the orangutan cage. They had a few cages where they had a couple different animals in them. At the time, we could only see the orangutan. He was doing a good job walking around and swinging on things. Lana LOVED him! Then all the sudden a porcupine came out of nowhere, all puffed up, and started charging the monkey!! The monkey was going all over the place trying to get away from him and eventually climbed to the top of the cage.

Today was fun. We went to the park and had a picnic. Dan got Lana to take a few steps on the grass. She kept pointing at all the planes as they went by and saying, "kitty!"

I ran 3 1/2 miles earlier and I was slow. I have excersized everyday for this week. After I had Lana I got down to my pre prego weight after about 5 or 6 mos. But this last month I slacked off and stopped exercizing as much and ate like a pig....so I am about 5 lbs over what I would like to be. I feel like I gained it faster than I would have before I had a baby.....or am I just imagining that.....??

This is Lana "talking" on the phone. (A friend gave her that little pretend cell phone) Any phone is her new favorite toy. She is so cute with them ! She just jabbers into them, puts it down and picks it back up to repeat.

I don't think I've ever commented on your blog (maybe I have once before). :) Lana is so cute... calling all animals and airplanes "kitty." Haha! I like reading about others' success (or lack thereof) of running. I signed up to run a 5k on July 4th and I don't think I'll be ready. But hearing that others are running motivates me more. :) Hope all is going well with you and your family! I enjoy reading your blog!
